A lot of our clients like to mix up their photoshoot styles. For example, they incorporate natural light photography, location and studio. Our photography Session can do all of this, resulting in a great collection of diverse images.
Since 2003, Alise Black has provided thousands of professional studio photoshoots on the east coast of Australia. Originally established in Melbourne and Sydney, recently in 2024, our team relocated to the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Alongside this move, we have opened a stunning new primary professional photographic studio in Brisbane.

Lifestyle photography is available at our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast studios. We have created spaces that have a variety of furnishings and settings. When we choose a studio, it's important it offers a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere. You may combine studio, lifestyle and location into the one Session.
Lifestyle photoshoots involve furnishings or products added into the image to create a natural and less formal photography style. Styled editorial shoots are popular for our commercial, branding clients and offer a relaxed portraiture or magazine style approach for private clients.
Simply put, lifestyle photography involves furniture, or real life settings, with a mix of natural and studio lighting. It's often a preferred choice for those aiming for a more relaxed photography style.
We are also available to travel to locations with unique lifestyle settings.
PLANNING PHOTOSHOOTS
What makes a successful photoshoot and what things we consider
The studio backdrop, lifestyle setting or location that you choose for your photography experience is the "stage" or feeling of your photoshoot. You may choose our studio, our lifestyle setting, a beach, house, garden, parkland, waterfall, urban setting, a grand building, funky airbnb, your office, or a unique location setting that reflects your personality or brand.
When designing a photoshoot, a key factor is the lighting. Mastering lighting takes technical training and many years of photography experience. Alise says "You finally become a professional photographer once you can see the light". Being able to control the lighting in studio and on location is essential to great imagery.
Essential things we consider when planning a photoshoot are:

The light. In studio and lifestyle shoots, what professional lights are needed to get the right look? What time of day is best for location settings and what are the weather conditions?

The colour palette of the photoshoot. Does it complement the skin tone, clothing or product that is the main hero of the image?

What space is available? Can everyone fit, including the equipment?

Is it safe and accessible to photograph there? Is it a private or public space? Are council permits required?

Alise Black Photographic Studios provides professional location photoshoots on the east coast of Australia. Our primary studio is located in Brisbane and our head office is on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We frequent Sydney and Melbourne to see our new and existing clients. Established since 2003, we offer our clients a huge resource of wonderful locations for their creative projects.
For commercial shoots and pre-packaged private sessions, we are available to travel both within Australia and internationally. Alise has travelled to all states around Australia for commercial clients. As we are a professional photographic studio, we have industry contacts in all major cities for studio spaces.
Internationally, we have been to New York, Paris, Thailand, Fiji, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Italy and Spain for photoshoots. Alise has travelled to over 22 countries and is experienced in working with many different nationalities.
Our studio and facilities
We primarily operate out of our Brisbane studio. Our private, professional studio space offers comfort and the latest state-of-the-art equipment.

COLOURED BACKDROPS
We use vinyl studio backdrops in white, black and green screen. Vinyl backdrops are premium and the green screen allows us to create any colour backdrop you want. There are millions of colour profiles available.

We have a wide range of fabrics, curtains and textured walls.

Professional studio flash lighting, LED lights, reflectors and natural light.

Medium format and DSLR cameras and wide range of lenses.

A mix of contemporary and designer vintage furnishings and props.

We explore your personal hair and makeup styling and ensure this is created to your taste.

Private makeup area, change room, designated client bathroom, viewing room, kitchen facilities for food photography, dark studio and natural lifestyle studio, boudoir studio, plus large outdoor balconies to complement this beautiful space.

Client parking is available for 1 car and there are plenty of local transport options too.
